KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Clare McAndrew - Author, "The Art Economy: An Investor's Guide to the Art Market"
Dr. Clare Mc Andrew is an economist, investment analyst and published author. Clare completed her PhD in economics at Trinity College Dublin in 2001, where she also lectured and taught economics for four years. Clare then spent three years as the chief economist at Kusin & Company, a boutique investment banking firm in Dallas, Texas. During her time at Kusin, Clare researched and published the book entitled The Modern and Contemporary Art Market: A Study of the Global Resale Market. She has published several papers in academic journals on arts and economics, and previously wrote for the Financial Times and other US publications.
Since her return to Ireland in February 2005, Clare worked as the editor of The Investor magazine. She left the magazine in May 2006, when she was commissioned to write a book entitled The Art Economy: An Investor’s Guide to the Art Market, which was published in 2007. During this time Clare also pursued a portfolio career in the media including hosting Invest on City Channel, editing Who’s Who in Irish Business and Wealth magazine and writing and presenting on several other Irish and international media on economic and investment issues..
Clare founded her own company, Arts Economics, in 2005, which specializes in research and consulting services in the arts, media, and finance..
