EMERGING ART MARKETS PANEL: Ludovic Bois, Chinese Contemporary Gallery
Ludovic Bois was born in Paris and raised in London. He completed his BA honours in London and an MBA in Mexico and Chicago. Prior to starting the Chinese Contemporary Gallery in London, New York and Beijing, Ludovic worked in commodities with Merrill Lynch and then moved to capital markets with Citibank in their Investment management group as the head of their derivative desk. Later, he joined Nomura bank as a director advising Supranational and central bank portfolio managers. In 1996, Ludovic opened with Julia Colman the first western gallery dedicated exclusively to Chinese Contemporary art. Chinese Contemporary gallery was the first gallery to give solo shows to artist like Yue Minjun, Wang Qingsong, Yang Shaobin and many others. Ludovic has worked with Institutions throughout the world in curating exhibitions. In 2007, he and his partner facilitated the first solo exhibition in a European museum (Finland ) for artist Zhang Xiaogang.
